This is my bucket list.
a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime.
“making this trip is the first thing on my bucket list”
So I thought I’d comprise a list of stuff I want to do in life. It may be a long one.
I feel I want to experience everything and I’m at that age, 21, where I feel a bit in limbo.
What do I want to do with my life?
I’ve moved to Australia to start my travels, so I feel this is probably the time to do these things.
I’ve already done some stuff I really wanted to do, like backpack Europe and travel to Australia, so I won’t add them on.
Once I have done them I will update the post and say what and how I did it.
I will probably also add more as I go.
So here it goes.
1. Live on or very very close to a beach. ✔
If you have read about me, which I hope you have, I love beaches. I grew up going to Abersoch, one of my favourite places. We spent most weekends and all summer at the beach, day and night. So, it is my dream and always has been, to live by, well in walking distance of a beach.
I feel I have now officially achieved this. YAY. So in January of 2016 I moved into a flat, literally two minutes from St Kilda beach.
I am loving it.
When I finish work I go straight for a swim. When I’m hungover I go for a swim. I am living my dream.
2. Sky dive. ✔
So on June the 20th 2016 I FINALLY did one of my life time goals. I JUMPED OUT OF A PLANE!
I did my jump at Mission Beach on the East coast of Australia, and it was the best experience of my life so far.
3. Travel to Japan.
I love Japanese culture, everything about it and have always wanted to go there.
4. Eat at Sukiyabashi Jiro
If you haven’t watched the documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi yet, watch it. Since I did it has made me want to eat sushi made by the famous Jiro Ono.
5. Learn to surf.
I have had one surf lesson, which I am pretty proud of, but I would like to be competent .
6. Live in New York City.
Not forever, just for a little bit.
7. Go to see Mount Kilimanjaro.
I know I won’t be able to climb it, but I would love to see it properly.
8. Run a marathon for a good cause.
9. Live in Canada.
10. Do a ski season.
I learnt to ski when I went with school but haven’t done it since, I would love to work and do a ski season properly.
11. Spend time with elephants.
They are my favourite animal. I have only been as close as a Zoo to one so I would love to be able to see them up close and spend time with them.
12. Visit all seven continents.
13. See the firefly squids in Toyama Bay, Japan.
14. Swim in the Great Barrier Reef. ✔
I officially snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef on my Whitsundays boat tour.
Okey, the stinger suit (wet suit) was baggy and yes, I look about 12, but I saw a turtle and a huge Maori Wrasse.
15. Learn to knit…and knit a full scarf.
I have done half of this, I learnt the basics of knitting but couldn’t master a full scarf, yet.
16. Visit the Grand Canyon.
Okey so I already do yoga a couple of times a week but I only started it this year and it’s been on my list for a while. I want to keep up with yoga and learn new things all the time.
18. Make homemade lemonade.
19. Visit the set of Lord of the Rings in New Zealand.
20. Float in the dead sea.
21. Be a professional cocktail maker
For obvious reasons.
22. Be a good Barista
I am a massive fan of coffee. I may actually be addicted…but isn’t everyone?..
Coffee is also huge in Australia.
Bring together those two things…I would love to train to be a good Barista.
23. Be in Ireland for St Paddy’s day
I have been to Dublin once and loved it. I can only imagine how crazy Paddy’s day is in Ireland.
24. Visit Maya Bay (the beach off the film The Beach)
25. Road trip across America
26. Write more blog posts
I try to write posts when I can, but lately I either am too busy or don’t have WiFi. I am aiming to make a go of it and post as much as I can.
27. Be a competent rollerblader
So I used to rollerblade as a child, and when I was in Bondi beach I did it there and remembered how much I loved it, and how hard it was.
I would love to actually be competent, maybe even good…
28. Become a qualified body piercer
If you know, you know I loved piercings. Tattoos and piercings. I always want a new one and am fascinated by them.
I have always wanted to be a qualified piercer, so I hope one day this can actually happen.
29. Do my masters in a field of Psychology.
30. Visit all the major sights in Great Britain
I have done a lot of Europe and am currently doing Australia. But when I do go home I want to make the effort to travel around different parts of the UK.
To be continued…
